The Summer Slow-Down (And Why That’s Okay)

Confession time: I think summer might be my spirit season. Longer days, live music, backyard barbecues, and let’s be honest—any excuse to eat ice cream for dinner without judgment. (If anyone is judging, they’re just jealous.)

But just like I’m tempted to slow down and soak up the sunshine, the real estate market tends to take a little breather this time of year too. It’s not a full stop—it’s more of a “let’s catch our breath and not sweat through another open house” kind of vibe.

And that’s okay.

This summer slowdown can actually work in your favor. For buyers, there’s often less competition, which means you might actually have time to think before making an offer (imagine that!). For sellers, serious buyers are still out there—they’re just moving at a slightly more relaxed pace. Kind of like me after chasing my chickens around in 90-degree heat.

The truth is, real estate doesn’t have to be all rush-rush and stress. Sometimes the best moves happen when you take a minute, look around, and breathe. (Preferably in the shade, with a cold drink.)

So whether you’re thinking about buying, selling, or just need someone to tell you that yes, it’s perfectly acceptable to have popsicles for lunch—I’m here.

Until next time,
Carla
