Everyone Seems Tired

Lately, everyone seems tired.

Not just sleepy. Not “I need a vacation” tired. Something deeper than that. A kind of weariness that settles into people quietly, until even small things start to feel heavier than they should.

I see it everywhere lately.

In conversations at coffee shops. In grocery store lines. In the way people sigh before answering simple questions. Even in real estate conversations, there’s this underlying exhaustion. Not because people have stopped dreaming about what’s next, but because the world has asked a lot from everyone for a long time now.

And I think many of us are still carrying more than we realize.

There’s so much noise all the time. Constant updates. Constant opinions. Constant pressure to optimize, improve, hustle, respond, adapt. It can feel like we’re all being asked to sprint through a marathon that never actually ends.

So lately, I’ve been thinking less about perfection and more about peace.

Not the big dramatic kind. Just small, ordinary peace.

A quiet morning. A kitchen that feels familiar. A couch you’ve cried on and laughed on and accidentally fallen asleep on after a long day. A porch light glowing when you pull into the driveway at night.

The older I get, the more I think home matters because life is hard sometimes.

Not always tragic. Not always catastrophic. Just relentlessly human. Busy. Complicated. Emotional. Uncertain.

And having a place where your nervous system can unclench a little? That matters more than people admit.

Maybe that’s why I’ve noticed people talking differently about home lately. Less about impressing people. More about comfort. More about stability. More about wanting spaces that actually support the life they’re living instead of the life they think they’re supposed to perform.

Honestly, I get it.

I think a lot of us are craving softer places to land.

So if you’re tired lately, you are not alone. And if you’ve been longing for more peace, more quiet, more room to breathe, I don’t think that’s laziness or lack of ambition.

I think that might just be wisdom.
